A Resort, Spa and Conference centre located in beautiful Riding Mountain National Park in central Manitoba, the Elkhorn offers visitors a first class stay in remote wilderness surroundings.
Guests have the option of staying in the main lodge or renting one of several sizes of chalets. Half of the lodge overlooks the Triangle Ranch and horses can be seen and heard as they run through the paddocks. The hotel rooms are all very large, with private balconies in most, fireplaces in some.
The chalets come in various sizes, several small A-Frames overlook the small golf course or the stables, while bigger cabins are more hidden back in the trees behind the resort. The cabins are part of the RCI timeshare chain, but are rentable outside that system as well.
In the past few years the Solstice Spa has been added to the resort and offers guests a completely relaxing experience. A mineral pool and steam room will help you relax for your session and a wide variety of relaxing and rejuvenating experiences await you. My s/o at the time adored the spa.
The restaurant on site is fairly good, though their Sunday Brunch is by far their best meal. During the winter months you are somewhat more limited in choices for meals however as most other restaurants within easy driving distance close for the winter. A small sports lounge is also available for guests, now with a patio.
Indoor/Outdoor hot tubs and a small pool complete the resort with the hot tub again having a lovely view of the horses down the hill.
