Candy for the mind, eye and stomach, Tsunami is a unique experience to anyone with enough money to give it a try. Although it is too pricey to be enjoyed regularly by the commoner, it is a perfect experience for special occasions. Dress code is casual-chic so the tie is not necessary. The cascading style of the restaurant layout sets the bar at the very top of a series of levels, each containing a private table for two guests or a group of guests depending on the size of the tier. In floor lights surrounded by smooth stones and the enormous golden Buddhas that watch you dine from the top of the restaurant provide a spa-like tranquility to the atmosphere. Common appetizers include sushi which is prepared fresh by chefs at the sushi bar on the bottom level. For the main course, you select from a wide variety of delicious Asian-Fusion entrees including Kobe Beef. Although you can count on spending upwards of $50.00 per plate at Tsunami, it is money well spent. The flavors are unmatched and unique to the Asian culture. They provide spin offs of old favorites such as ginger mashed potatoes. It is essential to the experience that you leave room for the handcrafted pieces of sin they call desserts. Chocolates dusted with gold and glitter, bird’s nests of fine spun sugar, and mousse oysters with gorgeous candy pearls in their open mouths among many other varieties that change with the week. When you have finished your meal, be sure to freshen up in what is quite possibly one of the most unusual bathrooms known to the restaurant industry.
